On Site: A Contemporary Addition to a Georgian Farmhouse

Good progress onsite is being made on this "new meets old" addition to a Georgian farmhouse and it is exciting to see the design come alive. The concept was to create an addition that echoed the form of the older wing of the house, but takes its material cues from the Georgian façade. We chose a brick that had a handmade quality and texture, yet was the colour of Cotswold stone to provide a subtle contrast with the original building.

Ford Construction have done a fantastic job with laying the bricks and working with some tricky details including a tapered window reveal. We are looking forward to posting more pictures as the construction progresses.
