LUXE FITNESS II

A bespoke gym in Bristol designed with a club vibe

Located in the iconic Beacon in the heart of the Bristol city centre, this second site for LUXE fitness was designed to create “A gym like no other”, with a club vibe to appeal to the youthful demographic of this area of Bristol.

LUXE Fitness aims to provide a luxury fitness experience from unique venues and spaces, while offering a welcoming, female friendly space with a social atmosphere. Design Storey worked closely with the LUXE team to translate their ambitions into a “gym like no other” at their latest site located in the podium of the landmark Beacon Tower in the centre of Bristol.

The design concept was to create theatrical spaces and moments of drama to provide an ‘instagrammable’ spaces for exercising. Dynamic lighting and careful use of materials animate the space. A feature stair, made from back-lit poly carbonate draws members down to the free weights zone on the lower ground floor. A bespoke chandelier, shaped like a helter-skelter, descends through the void of the mezzanine stair, providing a dramatic backdrop to the space.

The gym was voted ‘Best Newcomer in the UK Fitness Awards’.
